Marcel Kint and VIVIS university college jointly developed a custom time trial bike for children using complex 3D drawing and printing. Research group Design and Production Technology at VIVES university specializes in product design. Over it's years of experience, the research group has accumulated a thorough knowledge of the current tools and methods used during the design and production. The researchers' strenghs are complex,effecient, and clever 3D designing and printing. The technological challenges for the 3D-Racebicycle mainly revolve around efficient 3D printing,clever assembly, aerodynamics, and loads. This collaboration offers an added value for both partners. The manufacturers at KINT are introduced and supported in the possibilities of additive manufacturing. In turn, the researchers at the VIVES university college are looking for answers to new challenges and questions through state-of-art 3D technology.
